Angels at The Alfred

The Foundation continued our tradition of gifting Christmas angels and Christmas tree baubles to patients in Ward 5 East of The Alfred hospital.

Once again the adults and children received these beautiful decorations as a symbol of hope at this special time of the year.

W.D Rose Funerals has continued to support us by kindly sponsoring these lovely angel decorations for Christmas 2014. We thank them for their generosity.

Christmas Hamper @ The Alfred

We sold plenty of Christmas Hamper raffle tickets @ The Alfred hospital towards the end of 2014 in Alf's Cafe on the ground floor. Thank you to everyone who supported such a worthy cause!

Trivia Night

Our Trivia Night on Saturday 16th August was a wonderful evening with 12 tables of brainiacs competing for first prize. Triviamaster David Anderson kept us all on our toes with some easy to downright challenging questions to separate the trivia buffs from the wooden spoon winners. Thank you to those of you who donated terrific silent auction prizes for our food and drink themed auction, and to those of you on the night who dug deep for a fabulous clause. We were also very impressed with the effort made in theming the tables with the Beez Kneez the winners. Thank you to the committee and the Middle Park Bowls Club for their assistance in making the evening such a great success with around $7000 raised!

Breathe Easy Rose Launch

The Margaret Pratt Foundation proudly launched

The Margaret Pratt Breathe Easy Rose

on Sunday 6th April 2014 at The Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club.

We celebrated with a delicious high tea, door prizes and a fabulous raffle while listening to the dulcet sounds of harpist Michael Johnson. Thank you to marriage celebrant Jude Anderson for her beautiful garden hamper, and the committee for their generous donations and assistance on the day.

The first 'Breathe Easy' rose was presented to Tony Pratt, with roses also given to Margaret's mother Mary Whitty, and Tony's mother Joyce Pratt.

The Foundation also presented a cheque for $90,000 to The Alfred's Dr Glen Westall who was representing The Alfred Transplant Team. The Foundation has now donated over 1 million dollars to The Alfred which is fantastic! Margaret Pratt would be delighted with such a wonderful result and the realization of a dream Margaret and Tony Pratt had over a decade ago.

We were also delighted by the number of roses purchased on the day however encourage you to spread the word to family and friends. The 'Breathe Easy' rose initiative is one of our key fundraisers for this year so we would really appreciate your support. If you have any additional ideas for bulk sales we would love to hear from you!
