Chip in for Charity
340 novice, and some not so novice, gamblers
tried their luck at the gaming tables for a good
cause on Saturday 4th October. The Plaza
Ballroom provided a magnificent setting for a
casino experience with a difference. WD Rose
and Joseph Allison’s Sandra Bishop again
provided guests with a night of fun, fine wines
and delicious food.
The gaming tables were manned by patient
croupiers who were not above coaching
beginners in the fine arts of blackjack and
poker. Fortunes were won and lost and the
Margaret Pratt Foundation benefi ted either
way!!
The silent auction and the major auction gave
our generous supporters the opportunity to
get a head start on their Christmas shopping
Below: Sandra Bishop handing over cheque for proceeds from ‘Chip in for Charity’ to Ann Cohn and ensured that their credit cards were in
working order for the festive season.
Naming rights for a bed at the Alfred Hospital
were auctioned and resulted in an amazing
$6,000 being raised. Not to be outdone
the under bidders matched the bid!!
MPF supporters are a generous lot!!
“Digger the Dog” proved popular with guests
and 100 of the pups sold very quickly. A
cuddly toy is hard to resist and a gold and
diamond necklace is pretty special too!!
Maryann Janssen was the lucky winner.
We are thrilled to tell you that almost
$60,000 was raised on the night. Thank you
to all who supported us so generously and to
our friends at WD Rose and Joseph Allison
Funerals – we couldn’t do it without you.
